Dear Patient,

Welcome to GYN PATH Services. We are an El Paso, TX based Cytology & Pathology laboratory that is processing your COVID-19 test. The FDA EUA Aptima SARS-CoV-2 Assay is a viral molecular nucleic acid amplification test (NAAT) used to identify the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

This test is authorized by the FDA and is a Qualifying Test method for travel by the CDC. Both RT-PCR and TMA test methods are considered Qualifying Tests required by the CDC. This assay is not an antigen or antibody test, nor is it a rapid test. GYN PATH Services is a High-Complexity CLIA Accredited Laboratory.

We understand that waiting for your test results can be very stressful. We want you to know we will do our very best to assure your test is processed and resulted as soon as possible. We have a dedicated team of highly trained licensed personnel that are experienced in processing COVID-19 specimens.

Please help us by ensuring that the information onyour Lab Order is correct and includes a contact phone number. Any missing information may cause a delay in processing your sample. We use this information to report your results to the Health Department and give you access to your results online.

The CARES Act requires your health insurance carrier to cover the cost of your coronavirus test, therefore, it is essential that we are provided with your current health insurance information in order to file a claim on your behalf. If you are uninsured, the cost of your coronavirus test is covered by the HRSA Uninsured Program. The program requires us to obtain your SSN, driver's license, or state ID for verification.

To get your test results, click COVID-19 for PATIENTS. For security purposes, your name, date of birth, zip code, and the date your sample was collected will be required to access your test results.

Your test results are available 24 to 48 hours after your specimen is received in our laboratory. Samples are received in our laboratory at 1 pm and 6 pm. If after 48 hours you are unable to obtain your results online, please email covidresults@gynpath.com and include your name, date of birth, and the date your sample was collected.
